What is Zumba with Love? As a high school physiology teacher and athletic coach, Terri has always loved combining teaching with fitness. She never liked working out for the sake of working out. Instead, Terri was an athlete and enjoyed working out because it was part of her sport. However, after three knee reconstructions took away her ability to play a sport, a continued practice of fitness diminished. She simply could not get excited about going to the gym. Then Terri found Zumba. It gave her a good workout and joy at the same time, much like playing basketball had done. Even with bad knees and rotator cuff, she could move with modifications to great music.
ZUMBA LOVE is about loving yourself enough to recognize and honor your own possibilities and letting go of the idea of limitations. You can dance without jumping if you have bad knees. You can be moved by the music even if you are not a dancer. By modifying your dance so that you can move and laugh and find the joy and release that comes from moving to great rhythms, you can feel ZUMBA LOVE. If you are challenged by regular, fast moving, high impact classes, try it!
