After finishing her master’s degree in Social Work at West Virginia Univ. (with an emphasis on Adventure based therapy with children and families), Laura decided to move to Colorado to begin her journey of working with kids. During her experiences working with kids in treatment centers and out in the wilderness she discovered a need to teach kids yoga and pranayama. In 2006, she did her first yoga teacher training in Eldorado Springs at the Shambhava School of Yoga. She has done higher level yoga trainings there as well as many meditation intensives and workshops. She began teaching kids 5 years ago and has had such an enjoyable experience that she has kept it going. She feels so honored to help children learn to calm their minds and bodies through yoga and meditation. She also enjoys rock climbing, skiing, gardening, and music.
Come give your child the gift of beginning a yoga practice of their own. I will include stories, art, music and more to make it a rich and fun experience. We will learn poses, breathing techniques, and many different ways to meditate. Some days we will do yoga crafts that are fun and useful for their practice. We will enjoy acting out stories with poses and sometimes listening to the stories as well. Give your child a gift that will last a lifetime!
